Goodbye 2015 Hello 2016
What a year it has been! Finding out what our little baby was going to be, being pregnant in the heat of the summer to having our little Kali 3 weeks early! I loved every minute! I don't know how people can say "I hate/ hated being pregnant" yes it's hard, but you have the privilege of carrying a child that some women dream about. They want a baby so bad they wouldn't care to be sick, have swelling, get stretch marks.. Pregnancy and birthing a child is really really hard but I am SO thankful Heavenly Father blessed me to become a mother to my little girl. I can't wait to be a mommy to all my future children. Being a mom is hard, harder than I thought. I knew it was going to be challenging and I know it gets easier (I hope) but wooo!! Your entire life changes that's for sure but I wouldn't change anything about it! I love my little Kali, I love watching her learn and grow everyday! I love all the milestones she hits watching her learn to roll over and feeding her real baby food has been my favorite! Kali will be 6 months next week THATS HALF A YEAR! the time is going by SO fast and I can't even believe it! Soon she'll be crawling and talking up a storm I'm sure but I can't wait! I love when Brennen gets home from work and she's gives him the biggest smile ever!! She's a daddy's girl for sure! We had such a fun first Christmas with Kali and our family!

Where's the time going!?
I seriously can't believe our little girl will be 4 months next week! It's flown by! These past 4 months have been so wonderful and exhausting! Once we think we have a schedule down Kali likes to switch it up she likes to keep us on our toes! One day she'll like something one day she'll hate it life of a baby right? Oh by the way they're right.. Whoever they are? Everyone with a kid I guess, your life totally changes after you have a baby. It's like you almost don't remember life before! You get use to the sleep deprivation some nights Kali will be nice and give us a 6 hour gap. I think the longest she's gone is 8.. She usually likes to stick to 4. Like I said she likes to keep us on our toes! She's growing and growing everyday, her size and personality! She's smiling and giggling now it's seriously the best thing ever to hear her little giggle! She's trying to roll over but officially hates tummy time right now, use to love it, not a fan as of right now im thinking that will change soon.. I think! She use to love the car and now hates it.. Unless I'm sitting in the back with her, she just wants some company! She definitely has her daddy wrapped around her finger but that's how it's supposed to be right? Brennen seriously is such the best dad after a long day of work he comes home and takes care of Kali and gets up with me at night he's such a great help! We've had so much fun these past 4 months and we are so excited to keep watching Kali learn and grow!

Kali's Birth Story
Thursday July 2nd Brennen and I went to the Dr just for a regular weekly check up that morning, I was 36 weeks and 5 days not thinking anything was gonna happen just going in for a check up and leaving like every other Dr appointment. The past couple of times I had gone to the Dr my blood pressure had been higher than normal and my platelet count (something in your blood) kept decreasing each time they were taking my blood, once it gets to a certain number you cannot get an epidural. Since my blood pressure had kept going up and down the Dr wanted us to go over to labor and delivery to get hooked up to some monitors for a couple of hours just to make sure Kali and I were okay. We still didn't think we would be having our little girl soon just thought they would be keeping an eye on my blood pressure and then we would be free to go home. After being monitored for an hour or so my Dr came in and said since my platelet count kept decreasing so much each time they took my blood if I were to carry full term I wouldn't be able to get an epidural on top of having high blood pressure they didn't want to risk anything. We were so surprised that we were going to have little Kali so soon but also nervous! We started texting and calling for our family to bring our hospital bags. luckily I already had mine and Kali's bag packed!
Later that evening my Dr gave me a cervidil to help soften my cervix before starting me on pitocin. I had it all through the night with mild contractions.. that was fun. I was able to get morphine but once that wore off I got sick. It was a long night for sure. That morning I was able to get up and shower before they started me on pitocin. I had already dilated to 1cm on my own and the cervidil helped me dilate to 2cm. Around 6am they started me on pitocin I had that for 4 hours and slept through everything. My Dr came in at 9am and said you shouldn't be sleeping right now you should be having contractions so she broke my water and about 10 minutes after that I was having terrible contractions.. terrible I wish I could explain what they are like but there are no words. My Dr wanted me to be 4cm before I got my epidural.. that was the longest 4 hours ever that I had to wait. I honestly don't even remember getting my epidural because I was in so much pain and trying to stay still and breathe through contractions was pretty difficult. After I got my epidural I maybe had it for 10 minutes and had all of this pressure TMI I thought I was going to poop Kali out. HAHA I told my nurse she checked me and I was already at 8cm so really I don't think I got the epidural until I was probably 6cm. She went out to get the Dr and by the time they got back I was already dilated to 10cm. So I maybe had the epidural for 20 minutes before I started pushing.. I pushed for an hour and a half and felt everything, the epidural helped calm my contractions but other then that it was like I didn't even have one. Our little Kali Evelyn arrived Friday July 3rd at 2:55pm weighing 6lbs 14ounces 20inches long. Our lives were forever changed!
We were so happy when we were able to leave the hospital. We have now been home for a week and we are still so amazed that she is actually here! We love every moment with her even when she does pee or poop on us and when we are up every 2-3 hours feeding her she is worth it all!

One more month!
I still can't believe our sweet Kali's due date is only a month away, 4 weeks and 3 days, 31 days whatever works! I'm hoping and praying she comes on time with this heat I don't know how much longer I will be able to last. Not to mention sleeping is getting pretty miserable, getting comfortable and once you are getting up to pee is such a challenge rolling out of bed, feeling like your body is just gonna break in half. It's definitely going to be worth it in the end but as of right now I can't help but feel extremely exhausted!
We get to go to the Dr Friday and every week after that! That's when you know time is getting closer! We are so excited to meet our little girl! We had our birthing classes the past 3 Monday's and we are so thankful we were able to take those, it was so amazing to learn what your body will go through not only that but what you should know is going to happen before, during and after birth and a little bit about the baby after birth as well! Very informative and we loved our teacher which made it even better!
We had some amazing maternity photos taken 2 weeks ago by Olivia Rocha, she did such an amazing job we absolutely love them all! Here are a few of our favorites!

Baby Shower!
Yesterday was not only the baby shower for little Kali and I, but my 30 week mark! I can't believe I only have 10 weeks left until she gets here! Anyways the shower was so amazing so many friends and family were able to be there to celebrate the new life of our little girl. A huge thank you to Nellie Johnston and Chelsea Lorimer for hosting the shower it was decorated so cute and the food and games were perfect! The food table had chicken salad, veggie cups, cookies, cake pops and lemonade to drink out of mason jars!
All the ladies who came to the shower had to write some advice on a little paper onesie and hang it on a clothes line! After the shower they put all the advice in a book for Brennen and I to read together! We got some of the kindest and sweetest advice and I know during our late nights we will be going through that book to read all the sweet words for some comfort!
One of the other games was everyone had to guess the size of my belly with some ribbon! It was so funny to see all of the different sizes of ribbon! 3 of the girls got really close! There was a pack of diapers and some sharpies and people could write something sweet or silly for those late night diaper changes when we will be needing a good laugh!
Brennen and I got some really great gifts, a lot of stuff that we wanted and needed for our little girl! We feel so blessed to have such great friends! One of the gifts was some old ballet shoes of mine when I was a little girl, my mom had given to some really close friends of ours who now live in Utah she had kept them for all these years and sent them back here for Kali for when she will be able to wear them. I couldn't help but cry what a special moment that was for me. The ballet shoes are now on Kali's shelf in her room!
We got a super cute diaper cake!!
And even had little goodie bags!
Thanks for popping by with a little bag of popcorn! Needless to say it was the cutest baby shower ever! And I can't thank everyone enough for coming! Brennen and I are so overwhelmed with love! We just need our little girl now!! I know she will be here before our eyes!

Rainy Sunday update
This lazy rainy Sunday calls for a little update on our life! I am now 26 weeks pregnant! 1 more week until I'm in my 3rd trimester! We get to go to the Dr next week also! I can't believe how fast time is going, 97 more days until Kali's due date! In the past 2 weeks I have felt her more and more! She is always on the move, I love to lay down and watch my stomach its such an amazing feeling and it's even better when Brennen gets to see it too! Today in church I was trying not to giggle because she was moving so much! I seriously cannot wait for her to get here! Brennen is currently working full time for a construction company he was part time with them doing an internship for school and they wanted him full time! He loves it! He is finishing his semester at school and after this he only has one more semester until he has his associates! Life plans are kind of up in the air on what we will do after that but everything will come together I'm not too worried about it! I am doing hair out of the house full time now since we have to share a car I had to stop working at the salon I was at, super depressing I loved working there and loved all the girls but our friendships won't end! I'm super excited for the month of May with 2 baby showers coming up, in June we have our birthing classes and before you know it July will be here and Kali will be on her way! It's so crazy how much love you can have for something/ someone you can't even see! We love Kali so much already and we are so excited to be her parents and we can't wait to meet her in July!

Update on our baby girl!
Today I am 22 weeks and 6 days pregnant! I went to the Dr and everything is going perfectly! Fingers crossed it stays that way through the rest of the pregnancy! Everyone has told me I've had it really easy so far and I've been a good pregnant person to be around haha! At the Dr today we did the usual thing, pee in a cup, weigh you, ask questions, check blood pressure, listen to the heart beat (which is always so fun to hear) today her heart rate was 160. I love hearing her little heartbeat it makes it feel real all over again she even kicked when the nurse was looking for her heart beat and we heard a little thump she likes to sit down low which is good for delivery so hopefully she stays down there! I love feeling her move around its such an amazing feeling! The Dr measured my belly today and it was right on track, I go back next month for my glucose test (which im not too excited for) and after that I will have to go every 2 weeks how crazy is that? Thats how you know time is getting closer and closer! I actually signed up for a childbirth preparation class in June that Brennen and I will be going to, he better put his listening ears on! Im actually pretty excited for the class we will learn what to expect during labor, birth, signs of early labor, Lamaze relaxation and breathing techniques. Also information on infant care, safety and adjusting to parenthood. I think all of that is pretty important information if I don't say so myself! Im super excited for the next upcoming months! In May I will be having 2 baby showers, 2 ladies at my church are throwing me one and we will have a family one with my moms side of the family so im really excited for both of those! I cant believe in 4 months we will finally have our little girl here, we are so excited to meet her! We cant wait to see what she looks like and to finally hold her! We are so excited to be parents! Here's a picture of little Kali when I was 18 weeks pregnant!

Kali's Nursery!
Baby Kali's nursery is coming along! The day we found out we were having a baby girl we got home and mom was already working on her nursery recovering the rocking chair. We went and bought Kali's name in wooden letters to hang above her crib. We sprayed them purple and hung them with ribbon.
We decided to use purple with the light teal as the accent color. Nana couldn't help herself and wanted to go look at bedding for the crib. We found the cutest bed skirt and a mattress cover the accent color we are using. Her room is coming along and I cant wait until she gets here!!
The curtains!

Kali Evelyn Burgoyne
Today we found out that our baby is a GIRL!! We are both so excited it is just so amazing, everything about pregnancy amazes me! We went to a 3D ultrasound it was such a great experience! We got to see our baby, hear the heart beat and find out she's gonna be a girl! She was being shy for the longest time crossing her little legs. She finally uncrossed them and we got a good look of the goods! I can't wait to meet our little baby Kali I know she is gonna be the perfect addition to our family! July can't come soon enough!

Baby Burgoyne!
I can't believe I'm already 15 weeks pregnant! Our baby is the size of a navel orange, 4.0 inches long and weighs 2.5 oz! Next week we are going to a 3D ultrasound to find out the gender of baby B! We are super excited and hope that he/she cooperates! I have no feeling either way, lots of people say boy and lots of people say girl so we will just have to see! We found out in November that we were going to be parents, what an amazing feeling to know that you and the one you love created something that's yours. I remember the day we found out, we were speechless and didn't think it was possible. I found out a little after we got married that I had PCOS, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. It wasn't to the point where I had cysts on my ovaries but had to be put on medicine. I wasn't too worried but I knew that it would take us longer than usual when we wanted to get pregnant. After being on my medicine for 8 months we found out that we were pregnant it was a very emotional and exciting moment. We knew that there is a right time for everything and it was finally our time! I am very very fortunate that I've only been sick a few times this pregnancy, being in the second trimester I feel alot less tired and I don't want to eat everything in sight anymore! Here is a picture of Baby B when we had our first Ultrasound!
We got to see and hear our baby's heart beat at our first Ultrasound it was so amazing that something so small already had a heart beat and could move around. I cant wait to see our baby next week and see how much he/she has grown since the first ultrasound. We have been working on the baby's nursery we chose gray, white and black and when we find out the gender we will put a color in with that probably purple or blue! We did all the walls gray and one of the walls we did chevron! Well my husband did chevron! :)
We were very excited when we found an $8 entertainment center from goodwill that we decided to turn into a changing table! (gotta love pinterest) My very talented husband turned it into the most beautiful changing table ever! Here is the before and after!
We were so excited when we found out that a friend was giving her crib and mattress away! Here is the before and after, we sprayed it black! I cant wait to pick out the bedding!
My mom had a rocking chair that she let us have that we painted white and we are going to recover the cushions!
We still have alot that we need to do, but I am super happy with what we have already gotten done! Once we find out what our little peanut is we can get alot more done! We are really excited to become parents and we cant wait to meet baby b in July!!

Christmas in Cali!
We were able to fly to California for Christmas this year to be with Brennens family! We left late Monday the 22 and got to California around 1 in the morning. What a long and tiring flight we had! The next day we had to finish some last minute Christmas shopping. The weather was amazing in the 70's that day! The sun was shining and we were happy to be in California!
I love all the different sizes of palm trees out there! Tall and skinny short and fat I love them all! Palm trees are my favorite!
The next day was Christmas Eve and we were able to go to Disney Land! We had so much fun even though we couldn't ride the crazy rides this time! We got to watch a Christmas parade that evening!
We even got our picture taken with Mickey Mouse!
We were tired after a long day of walking around! The next day was Christmas!
We took it easy that day being lazy! What else do you do on Christmas Day? We got so many good gifts and I got some great pregnancy goodies!
Later that evening we went to the Mission Inn where we stayed for our honeymoon one night! They always decorate it for Christmas! It was beautiful!
We were able to meet up with 2 close friends of Brennens while we were out visiting! We went to lunch with Mike and Jackie and later that day we took a trip to Newport Beach we stopped by the temple!
Our time in California was slowing coming to an end. We took it easy monday and Tuesday we went to Oak Glen with Brennens friend Darin. It was so cold up in the mountains that day.
Later that night it was time for us to leave California. We had such a fun time being out there for Christmas! We got home early Wednesday morning. We were definitely tired! I think we're still trying to catch up on sleep! Needless to say we had an amazing trip and we can't wait to go out there again!
The next day we traveled to San Diego where we were married! We went to the beach and we were able to stop by the temple!
We went to church on Sunday at Brennens home ward. It was nice seeing everyone. Of course while we were out in California we had to eat at In-N-out!
